Class One of the most startling ideas of modern medicine is that "sudden death" can be reversed. Perhaps more astonishing is the realization that this miracle of science may be brought about by any of us, anywhere, using only our hands, our lung, and our brains. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed properly and promptly can help victims survive to receive treatment with advanced medical techniques. Desert Valley Medical Group Health Education CPR classes will teach how to recognize warning signs of heart attack and stroke and what to do if they occur. You will also learn how to recognize and manage respiratory distress and choking. Topics include performing CPR on adult, child and infant victims, as well as managing obstructed airways on the adult, child and infant. A. Initial recognition First Aid First Aid is the immediate care given to the injured or suddenly ill person. It is the temporary assistance that is rendered until competent medical care, if required, arrives and takes over. This is a basic program that will concentrate on the first five minutes of care. Properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time, and quite possibly be the difference between temporary disability or lifelong disability for the victim. A. Three year Certification, Pediatric as well as Adult. CPR IS HELD THE SECOND TUESDAY AND THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH. FIRST AID IS HELD THE THIRD TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH. For more information or to sign up for the classes please call 760-955-9355.
