The department is functionally segregated from other hospital units and is staffed and equipped with the necessary specialized equipment to meet the needs of those patients requiring surgery. The Department is located on the first floor of the hospital.

The five areas of service that make up the Surgical Services Department are surgery, pre-operative holding area, post-anesthesia care unit, special procedures room, and central sterile supply. Surgery has four operating suites. The types of surgery provided are General, Urological, Gynecological, Orthopedic, Plastic, Vascular, ENT, and Endoscopic.

The department is divided into two shifts daily Monday through Friday with a call crew available to respond within 30 minutes to after hours, weekend, and holiday emergencies.
